Science Fair testing.

Hello students of Totara House, my name is Calie Strange (a year 8 in room 19) and this year for my science fair I would like to test what the effects that sugar can have (good or bad). So if you are interested in going sugar free for approximately 3-4 weeks (it is not confirmed how long yet, I just need to get an idea of how many people would be interested) and I will be able to do some tests on you (also not confirmed which tests) could you please email me at z_strangec@tauranga-int.school.nz . I will be testing both boys and girls, year seven year eight so everyone is welcome to contribute. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. : )

My Amazing New Sweet.

My amazing new sweet is… a sweet, sickly, pink candyfloss coated in a warm, gooey dairy milk chocolate with little surprises hiding amongst it like nuts, nerds, little bits of crunchy and lots more - but thats the surprise.

In the middle of the candyfloss at the very tip of the stick there is some yummy, scrumptious chewy bubble gum when you take a bite into it you go flying up into the air and then you drop you safely back down again.

Grace Rm18 Story

My dad and I were out past the first sand bar and the waves were HUGE!!!

The waves pounded ashore like tonnes of concrete being lifted and dropped. I caught a wave body surfing and got thrown around like I was in a ZORB bubble!

The seawater wasn’t the clearest and it didn’t taste so nice. In fact it tasted really sandy. One wave I managed to get body surfing actually me feel like I was going at super fast speed and when I got out of the wave I felt like I had a chill!

The current and the drag was really strong and guess what next thing I know I’m half a mile away from my family. When I got out of the ocean I was soaked but ecstatic. After I came out I was covered in sand.

Thai Art

Recently, Patty and Moo (some of the Thai teachers) came into room 17 to do art. We were to make bookmarks with our name printed in gold. First we found out our name in Thai, then we drew in on a black bookmark in glue. After that, we put gold on it and then chipped it off and all that was left was our name in gold.
Here is a photo of Patty showing us how to do it:
